Still no solution in the state sector negotiations – pay dispute continues

The administrations of the employee organisations did not approve the second conciliation proposal, which the National Conciliator submitted on Sunday in an attempt to resolve the state sector collective agreement dispute.
The dispute on the pay rise level of the state sector collective agreement continues, as the employee party did not approve the offered conciliation proposal, which was below the general pay rise level (7.8%). The government employer party would have approved the proposal.
– JHL’s Union Council rejected the conciliation proposal. The state sector employees deserve pay rises that match the general level. We hope to reach that level in the conciliation, stresses JHL’s Senior Bargaining Specialist Harri Turunen.
The strike that has been announced for 8 and 9 May is postponed by two weeks because the Office for the Government as Employer has referred the strike to the National Dispute Impact Assessment Board.
Bans on overtime and shift swaps and a ban to accrue flex hours continue at state sector workplaces.
The Trade Union for the Public and Welfare Sectors JHL, Trade Union Pro and the Negotiation Organisation for Public Sector Professionals JUKO represent the employees in these negotiations, and the Office for the Government as Employer (VTML) represents the employer.
JHL’s negotiators are Senior Bargaining Specialist Harri Turunen and Bargaining Specialist Teija Wikman.
