Social welfare and health care sector professional, JHL needs your viewpoints – please reply to the survey sent to your e-mail!
The labour shortage in the social welfare and health care sectors is threatening to get out of hand. Trade Union JHL wants to look further into what can be done about the matter. You should thus reply to the survey that has significance for the future of your sector. At the same time, you may win a prize in a draw!
JHL is worried about employee well-being in the social welfare and health care sectors and their support services, and about the resources of the entire welfare sector in general. The union has decided to find out why there aren’t enough people that decide to work in the sector. Furthermore, we’re looking for answers to how to make skilful personnel enjoy their work and remain at their job.
– The social welfare and health care sector’s labour shortage is a serious problem in Finland. One can even go so far as to talk about a care bomb. In addition to those working in the sector, the labour shortage affects the functionality of the entire Finnish society, JHL’s Special Advisor Miranna Seppälä states. Seppälä was involved in preparing the survey.
What’s the target group?
The survey on which the union will base its report needs viewpoints from those who are most familiar with the work and its possible challenges, i.e. our members in the social welfare and health care sector. That’s why it’s important that as many people as possible reply to the survey. To see the message about the survey, check the e-mail address that you’ve submitted to the union.
You have until 8 January to reply!
In accordance with the occupational title in JHL’s membership register, the survey has been sent to the personal e-mail of about 20,000 union members.
Please note! You can reply anonymously, and an individual respondent cannot be identified. The results will be reported as larger entities. It will take about 12 minutes to reply, and you have time until 8 January 2024. We will draw 10 Finnkino gift cards worth EUR 30 among the respondents.
What we will do with the replies
– We will take forward the experiences and results that arise from the survey all the way to the highest level of decision making. We want to make a strong impact to the measures of the Government and ministries in this extremely important matter, Seppälä says.
The topic will surely offer plenty to chew on in public debate, too. JHL will report on the survey results in its channels in spring 2024.
