Negotiations on the SOTE agreement have started

Trade Union JHL has started negotiating on the SOTE agreement. It is the collective agreement for social and health care personnel in all wellbeing services counties and in the social welfare and health care services of Helsinki.

Collective bargaining has started also at the SOTE agreement table.

In the first meeting on 14 March the parties presented their goals and agreed on the negotiation schedule. The current agreement term continues until the end of April 2025.

– Regarding working times, there are many propositions on how wellbeing at work and flexibility from the employees’ perspective could be improved. These points will be processed more closely in a working group, says Senior Bargaining Specialist Marko Heikkinen.

JHL negotiates on the SOTE agreement as part of Public Sector Union JAU. JAU is formed by JHL and Trade Union Jyty. The other negotiating parties are the social welfare and health care sector’s negotiation organisation Sote ry, the Negotiation Organisation for Public Sector Professionals JUKO, and Local Government and County Employers KT.

The labour market parties agreed on creating a collective agreement for social and health care personnel (the SOTE agreement) in the collective bargaining round of spring 2020. The SOTE agreement applies in all wellbeing services counties, joint authorities for wellbeing services (for example the HUS Group), and the social welfare and health care services of the city of Helsinki.
