JHL cancels handling blockades after the negotiation results of the technology and chemical industry sectors were approved

Trade Union JHL cancels the handling blockades that were going to start on Monday 24 February because the Industrial Union has achieved agreements on the future terms and conditions of employment for chemical industry and technology industry.
The negotiation result on the new collective agreement for technology industry employees has been approved on Saturday 22 February by the Industrial Union and the Technology Industry Employers of Finland. The negotiation results on three collective agreements for the chemical industry sector have also been approved by the Industrial Union and the Chemical Industry Federation of Finland.
Because an agreement has been achieved in both negotiations, the Industrial Union cancels strikes that were going to start on Monday 24 February.
This means that JHL also cancels the handling blockades that were going to start on Monday 24 February.
– I want to thank all our members who have participated in the handling blockades. These negotiation results show that trade unions can together achieve outcomes that benefit everyone, says the President of JHL, Håkan Ekström.
JHL provided powerful support for the Industrial Union’s negotiations. It organised in total four handling blockades that affected cargo handling in ports and rail transport.
