Agreement reached in private social services sector
Trade Union JHL and the other negotiation parties achieved a negotiation result in the private social services sector on Thursday 8 June.
We will give more information about the content of the negotiation result when the executive bodies of all parties have approved the result. The Executive Committee and Union Council of the Trade Union for the Public and Welfare Sectors JHL will process the negotiation result on Monday 12 June.
The ban on overtime and shift swaps and the job search embargo declared by JHL will end immediately. When the executive bodies have processed the negotiation result, we will give information about the strikes that were set to begin on 19 and 20 June in child protection, personal assistants working under the private social services sector’s collective agreement, and in the care sector.
The private social services sector has been undergoing a period without agreement since the beginning of May. To speed up the negotiations, JHL not only had to declare a ban on overtime and shift swaps for the sector, but also a job search embargo in four corporate groups in the care sector. Strike had to be used as a weapon several times. There were private social services sector strikes in Uusimaa, Southwest Finland, Pirkanmaa, Kanta-Häme and Päijät-Häme.
