A three-year collective agreement for sports organisations and clubs

JHL’s Executive Committee has approved the new terms and conditions of employment for sports organisations and clubs. The last day of the new collective agreements is 29 February 2028. Employees will get pay rises every year.
Sports organisations and clubs have new collective agreements. The Executive Committee of Trade Union JHL approved the collective agreement negotiation results in their meeting on 20 March.
The negotiation result for the collective agreement of sports organisations was achieved on 10 March, and the negotiation result for the accession protocol concerning sports clubs was achieved on 17 March.
– The estimated required savings in budget appropriations for sports during this central government spending limits term are 28%. That is reflected in the funding of sports organisations and clubs. This added difficulty to the negotiations, and we could not get pay rises that match the so-called general level, explains JHL’s Regional Activities Specialist Simo Mäki, who negotiated on these collective agreements.
Service Sector Employers Palta, which represented the employer in these negotiations, has also approved the negotiation results.
Three years long collective agreement terms
The agreement terms of the new collective agreements are from 20 March 2025 to 29 February 2028.
The agreement terms are 2+1 years. The third year can be cancelled by 31 December 2026.
– If the economic outlook for the last agreement year looks better, we can terminate the agreement and seek better pay rises for the last year, Mäki comments.
The accession protocol concerning sports clubs is an appendix to the collective agreement for sports organisations, but at the same time it is also a separate collective agreement.
