A collective agreement negotiation result was achieved for the church sector

More information on the contents of the negotiation result will become available when the executive bodies of all negotiating parties have processed it.
A negotiation result on the new collective agreement for the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland (KirVESTES) was achieved today, Friday 28 February 2025.
More information on the contents will become available once the new collective agreement has been approved by the executive bodies of the organisations representing the employees and the employer.
The negotiations began in mid-January. The previous agreement period was ending on 28 February 2025, but a new agreement was negotiated just before a period without agreement would have begun.
– This was our goal. Now we can be satisfied that we made it, says Keijo Hiltunen, JHL’s bargaining specialist for the collective agreement of the church sector.
The church sector employs about 19,000 people annually, including seasonal workers. The church sector union formed by JHL and Jyty, Negotiation Organisation for Public Sector Professionals JUKO, and Kirkon alat ry represented the employees in these negotiations, and Kirkon työmarkkinalaitos represented the Evangelical Lutheran church employers.
